Plans For Carlito Revealed After WWE Return
WWE has plans in place for Carlito following his return to the company at Fastlane.
Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar needed a tag team partner at Fastlane as the LWO pair were tasked with facing Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits in a six-man tag team match. With Mysterio and Escobar in dire straits during the bout, Carlito was revealed to be the LWO’s third man and he joined the action.
The former US and Intercontinental Champion proved pivotal for his team as he dropped Montez Ford with a Backstabber to pick up the victory.
Carlito had appeared at Backlash in Puerto Rico back in May 2023, coming to the aid of Bad Bunny as he took on The Judgment Day’s Damian Priest. Reports then surfaced that the star had re-signed with WWE but there was no word on what the company’s plans were for him but that has now changed.
Carlito heading to Friday nights
Following his return to WWE television, PWInsider has reported that Carlito will be heading to SmackDown moving forward. That means he will be on the same brand as Rey Mysterio and the LWO although it is not known if he will become an official member of that group.
The apple-chomping star previously spent seven years with WWE between 2003 and 2010. On his debut appearance on SmackDown, he struck gold immediately defeating John Cena for the US Championship in October 2004.
