Paul Heyman Believes Roman Reigns Has Had Best Title Run Of All-Time

While hearing Paul Heyman sing Roman Reigns’ praises shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, Heyman did make a bold statement when he claimed that Reigns’ current run as champion trumps all that have come before him.

Reigns won the Universal Championship back on August 30, 2020 and has held it ever since. Then at WrestleMania 38 last year, he added the WWE Championship to his collection and has also carried that belt as well since then.

As of this writing, Reigns has held the Universal title for 1,027 days and it doesn’t look like he’ll be losing either of those two titles anytime soon.

Because of all his success as champion, Paul Heyman has once again spoken volumes of his charge, this time on The Pat McAfee Show.

“Undisputed. Steve Austin didn’t hold the title for 1,000 days. John Cena didn’t hold the title for 1,000 days. The Rock didn’t hold the title for 1,000 days.

Come on. In this era, with this much pressure, with this level of competition, with a murderers’ row of heavyweights that have come after him? How many title defenses against Brock Lesnar? Defeating John Cena, stacking Edge and Daniel Bryan on top of each other in the main event of WrestleMania, admittedly just getting by Cody Rhodes?

Come on. Look at the roster that has been defeated by Roman Reigns. It’s an all-time great, legendary roster.”

Taking live events into consideration, Roman Reigns has successfully defended the Universal Championship 28 times before he “unified” it with the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 38.
