Paul Heyman Outlines Future Of Seth Rollins’ Faction Amid Injury Absence

Seth Rollins cuts a promo with Paul Heyman on WWE Raw

Paul Heyman is looking to exploit the media coverage of Seth Rollins’ injury.

At Saturday Night’s Main Event, LA Knight finally got his one-on-one match with Seth Rollins.

When all was said and done, it was Knight who grabbed the win, but Rollins who grabbed the headlines. While performing a flip off the ropes, Rollins jarred his knee, and Knight quickly hit the BFT to wrap up victory.

After the show, it was confirmed that Rollins’ injury was legitimate, and he had been scheduled to beat Knight before changing the finish on the fly.

There continue to be conflicting reports around the severity of the injury, with Seth Rollins suggesting he’ll be out for an “extended period.” However, there have been claims that this is just another way to ramp up the storyline, setting him up for a surprise quick return to action.

Paul Heyman Reflects On The Impact Of Seth Rollins’ Injury

Paul Heyman is keenly aware of the media’s ever-evolving role in the wrestling industry, and he’s determined to exploit it. When asked about the media in relation to Rollins’ injury while speaking with CBS Sports, he said that each side is trying to exploit the other.

“Seth Rollins being injured is a fact of life. It’s an inherent danger in this industry.

The media will exploit their access to us by having more in-depth reporting behind the scenes. We’re going to exploit that access to the media by devising storylines that are enticing to the readers, viewers, or the people who consume that content.

It now becomes another platform for us to use. It’s just the evolution of the relationship. The reporters get closer to the product, and the product gets closer to the reporters.”

Heyman added that with Rollins out, more spotlight can be given to Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed, who he described as the most underappreciated big man in years.

“This allows even more spotlight to be put on Bron Breakker, who is going to main event multiple WrestleManias in the future. I was predicting that even before Bron Breakker was with me on television.

Bronson Reed is the most underappreciated and underutilized monster that we’ve had for years. Finally, he gets the spotlight to have the right opponents to smash. He gets the right opponents to Tsunami. Before, it was an effort to get Bronson Reed into a main event. Now the main eventers line up for him…”

In Rollins’ absence, Breakker and Reed tried to take out CM Punk on Raw, only to be met by a returning Roman Reigns. Although his creative plans remain unclear at this stage, Reigns is set to feature on the next two editions of Monday Night Raw.
