Pat McAfee Steps Into New Role On WWE Raw
Pat McAfee was a world-class NFL punter, is a successful media mogul, a popular WWE commentator, and he’s never stopped being a team player.
In recent days it became apparent that Ricochet was heading out of WWE as his current deal with the company comes to an end. Recently, several stars in the company have signed new deals as they neared the end of their old ones but Ricochet is said to have made clear that he would not be re-signing and was on his way out.
On Raw in Toledo, the former Intercontinental Champion was sent on his way by Bron Breakker with a vicious assault. Breakker had defeated Ilja Dragunov on the show and continued the attack on his opponent before Ricochet intervened.
In the end, Breakker splatted Ricochet off the concrete backstage after lawn-darting him into a production truck. Breakker then slammed the star onto a car which led to Ricochet being taken away in an ambulance where he was accompanied by his fiancée and WWE ring announcer Samantha Irvin.
Pat McAfee Takes Over As WWE Raw Ring Announcer
That left Raw without a ring announcer for the main event of the show and Pat McAfee was more than happy to step in to handle those duties. McAfee gave his unique approach to the ring introductions for Drew McIntyre and Finn Balor as they did battle with a huge Clash at the Castle stipulation on the line.
