NXT Star Enjoying Sitting Under CM Punk’s Learning Tree

CM Punk

A top NXT star is enjoying learning from “awesome” CM Punk.

Since returning to WWE at Survivor Series in 2023, CM Punk has attended several NXT tapings as well as appearing on-screen at Deadline. There have even been suggestions that Punk is looking to eventually take over from Shawn Michaels as NXT boss when he eventually retires.

One of the stars who has been looking to learn from Punk during these visits is Roxanne Perez. The NXT Women’s Champion has never hidden her admiration for CM Punk, while she’s previously said she won’t retire until she wrestles AJ Lee.

In a new interview with Stephanie Chase, Perez discussed Punk helping out in NXT.

“I grew up watching him, I grew up wanting to be where he was so now being able to be under his learning tree… he’s just so awesome. I feel like he doesn’t have to do everything that he does, he will literally just drop by the NXT pay-per-views.

He was there at Las Vegas Battleground just to watch all of our matches So it’s really cool for him to go out of his way to do that and and help us out and see if we need any critiques or any advice or anything, he’s always there,”

CM Punk Returning To NXT

Meanwhile, it’s been announced that CM Punk and Randy Orton will be making special appearances in NXT in October.

The brand is set to premiere on the CW Network on October 1st with a special episode at the All State Arena in Chicago featuring Punk. Seven days later, WWE’s third brand will head to the Enterprise Center in St. Louis with special guest Randy Orton.

Punk was also in attendance for the latest WWE try-outs during SummerSlam weekend alongside Michaels.
