NXT Star Suffers Another Injury Setback

WWE NXT logo over blurred Cora Jade Nikkita Lyons

One of NXT’s biggest names is set for a spell out of the ring.

Back in January 2023, Nikkita Lyons suffered a serious knee injury that would keep her out of action for much of the year. The star had been finding some momentum on WWE’s third brand and was regularly featured on the show.

After a grueling rehabilitation program, Lyons returned to television that November, before getting back in the ring the following months. However, it seems her comeback has been cut short. Despite wrestling just seven times, it’s been reported that Lyons is injured.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer confirmed that the star is out of action. Lyons hasn’t wrestled since being defeated by Blair Davenport on January 9th.

“Nikkita Lyons is injured again, just coming back from a injury.”

The NXT women’s division took another hit in early January when Cora Jade also suffered a major knee injury. Jade had only returned to action a month earlier following a five-month absence, but following surgery, she might not be out until early 2025.

Sol Rucca Makes NXT Return

Despite the setbacks, there has been some good news with Sol Rucca getting back in the ring after ten months out of action.

Ruca had suffered a torn ACL back in May 2023, in a tag team match at a NXT live event in late April where she teamed up with Dani Palmer against Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson.
