NXT Isn’t Really WWE Developmental According To Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes Opens Up About Abrupt 2016 WWE Departure

Cody Rhodes has discussed NXT’s enormous success.

Under the guidance of Shawn Michaels, NXT is flying higher than it has done in years. Not only is the brand providing a platform for some of WWE’s fastest-rising stars, but it’s also become home to some of the industry’s most buzz-worthy names such as Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer.

Meanwhile, on the October 22nd edition of the show, those names above were officially joined by DELTA — now known as Zaria. The star appeared seconds after the main event where Giulia & Stephanie Vaquer defeated Fatal Influence as the show went off the air.

NXT’s next Premium Live Event Halloween Havoc is set to take place on October 27th, with Ethan Page challenging Trick Williams for the NXT Title.

Cody Rhodes Gives His Take On NXT

During an appearance on 3News in Las Vegas, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes discussed NXT’s success while admitting the brand can be intimidating to some on the main roster.

“NXT, particularly with Baldo [Matt Bloom] and Shawn Michaels, as a talent and current main roster, NXT can be kind of intimidating. It’s not really a developmental anymore. It’s almost a grooming ground for these monsters who are going to come up and stand across the ring from you, and they’ve been trained by Shawn Michaels.

We’re definitely preparing the next generation of superstars and wrestlers. Their run on CW, I’ve been blown away. Really special stuff,”

Next up for Cody Rhodes is a clash with World Heavyweight Champion Gunther at WWE Crown Jewel on November 2nd.
