NXT Evolve To Replace Existing WWE Show
WWE is set to introduce a new weekly NXT show.
Back in December, it was announced that NXT Level Up was being scrapped and replaced. The show regularly featured the company’s youngest and freshest talent and originally replaced 205 Live in early 2022.
At the time it was noted that the show would be replaced by WWE LFG (Legends & Future Greats). The show is set to be an updated version of Tough Enough, with young talents competing for a contract under the guidance of legends such as Triple H, Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, and Mickie James.
However, it seems that won’t quite be the case.
WWE Making Further Changes
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Level Up will in fact be replaced by a new show called NXT Evolve. The new addition is described as “a Gabe Sapolsky project.”
Level Up is being replaced by something called NXT Evolve although not at the start of the year. We’ve heard to expect it in a few months. It’s a Gabe Sapolsky project and essentially would be people in developmental but not on NXT television regularly, like Level Up.
I think that instead of just matches, to do angles and promos and book it more like a television show. It will be shows taped only for television/streaming.
The move is the latest in a raft of changes over the last six months which has seen SmackDown move to the USA Network and become three hours, while NXT now airs on the CW Network. Meanwhile, on January 6th, Monday Night Raw will make its long-awaited debut on Netflix.
With regard to Raw, it’s been reported that Lilian Garcia will be leaving the brand and heading to SmackDown, switching with Alicia Taylor. It had already been confirmed that Michael Cole and Pat McAfee will be calling the action on Raw with Joe Tessitore moving to SmackDown.
