NXT Deadline Sees Izzi Dame Win Major Grudge Match

The main event of Week One of NXT Gold Rush 2025 shocked everyone as Tatum Paxley lost her NXT Women’s Championship to Fatal Influence’s Jacy Jayne.

Paxley was facing the woman she had won the championship from, and it seemed like she was on her way to retaining the title, but was betrayed by Izzi Dame, Shawn Spears, and Niko Vance.

Paxley was kicked out of The Culling by Dame after she cost her the Women’s Championship. A match between the two former friends was announced for NXT Deadline this past week.

Paxley promised Izzi that she would make her feel as much pain as she was feeling following Izzi’s betrayal, and she did so at times in the match, but she was being dominated for most of the match.

Izzi Dame picks up the win at NXT Deadline

Both women tried to play mind games with the other and faked friendships at different points in the match, only to hit each other when they weren’t expecting it. Izzi was ragdolling Tatum around for most of the match, but something changed after Izzi slapped her former friend.

That slap was all that was needed for Paxley to make a comeback into the match, and she immediately got a two-count from the referee. She took the match outside and hit Izzi with an Enzugiri and a German Suplex on the floor.

She then hit The Psycho Trap on Izzi on the announce desk and seemed to head inside the ring for the win. However, she was stopped by Shawn Spears as he distracted her long enough for Izzi to recover.

As soon as Tatum went back in the ring, Izzi hit her with the Boot of Dame before following it up with the Dame Over to pick up the win over the former NXT Women’s Champion.
