No Spot In AEW For Missing Star
One AEW star isn’t rushing to get back in the ring.
Saraya hasn’t been seen on AEW television since losing a four-way match on the October 8 2024 edition of Dynamite, and it seems that won’t be changing any time soon.
Since that match, the British star has been working on several non-wrestling projects, with her autobiography “Hell in Boots: Clawing My Way Through Nine Lives” on March 25. During her absence, Saraya confirmed she’d requested time off for personal reasons, but gave no indication on when she might return.
Somewhat surprisingly, during an appearance on the Lightweights Podcast with Joe Vulpis, she claimed AEW doesn’t need her. Despite this, she did express her desire to return to the ring.
“Yeah. I mean, I feel like at this age and time, there isn’t really a spot for me right now. I feel Iike everybody’s got their own thing. Eventually…I love wrestling, I will be back at work at some point. But right now, it’s good. They don’t need me. They don’t need me,”
AEW’s Saraya Closing On Retirement
In a different interview, while promoting her book, Saraya admitted she’ll be retiring “very soon,” although she declined to give further details. The star noted that her most recent matches involved a string of defeats, and she’s adamant she doesn’t want to “go out on top,” instead lifting up as many up-and-coming wrestlers as possible.
Saraya’s AEW contract expires in September, and she’s stated on several occasions that a return to WWE isn’t out of the question.
