No Return In Sight For Injured Top WWE Star

Triple H WWE Evolution

A top WWE star hasn’t been cleared to return.

Since exploding onto the main roster in 2020, Bianca Belair has established herself as one of the biggest stars in modern WWE.

The former NXT star has become near-universally loved by fans while wrestling a series of classic matches and winning multiple championships along the way. However, that momentum came to a shuddering halt at WrestleMania 41.

In a Triple Threat Match with Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky for the Women’s World Championship, Belair suffered a hand injury and hasn’t wrestled since. She later confirmed the injury on SmackDown and served as the Special Guest Referee for the match between Jade Cargill and Naomi at Evolution.

Bianca Belair’s WWE Absence To Continue

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer confirmed that “There is still no return date” for the former champion. He added that her injury is much worse than the kind of broken fingers wrestlers often suffer from.

“She’s been out since WrestleMania with broken fingers, so that injury must have been far worse than usual broken fingers that people often work on and would usually be, even with surgery, only a couple of months.”

An earlier report noted that Bianca Belair’s injury was “a lot worse” than WWE initially thought. It suggested that while Belair thought she had broken all of her fingers in the immediate aftermath of the match, she had actually broken the knuckle on her left hand.

During an interview with Adrian Hernandez in September, the star thanked fans for their support and said she would be back soon. She also reiterated that her ring finger was still swollen and she was unable to straighten it. This meant she had to wear her wedding ring on her other hand.
