No Bad Blood Claims Not True After Bizarre AEW Walkout

It seems suggestions that there is no bad blood after a recent walkout in AEW might not be exactly true.

Former WWE star Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize caused a stir when they walked out of AEW Collision after being unhappy with their planned match with Anna Jay and Tay Melo. Newell and Alize had lost in quick fashion to Megan Bayne and Marina Shafir in their first match in the company and seemingly wanted a more competitive showing on Collision.

Newell has since claimed there was no bad blood with them and AEW following the strange situation. But that might not be totally true.

AEW Roster Blast Stupid Decision

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said he did not expect them to be booked again in AEW, and as far as their claims that there was no bad blood, he simply noted, “That’s not true”

Bryan Alvarez followed up with what he’d heard from people and noted there was exasperation in the AEW locker room at Newell and Alize’s “stupid” actions:

I heard from a lot of people, and what was amazing is I heard from people as the show was going on, so people weren’t even waiting until the show was over. I mean, maybe Tony told them there were no hard feelings, but there were so many people like, “What a stupid thing to do.” That’s the one thing I heard over and over, “What a stupid thing to do.”

Meltzer reiterated what other reports had also suggested, that Newell and Alize did not refuse to lose, they just wanted longer for their match:

It was not a problem in the sense that they did not refuse to lose. They wanted to have a competitive ten minute match and the show was laid out. They didn’t have ten minutes for them and that was that.
