Nikki Garcia Opens Up About Rocky Relationship With WWE

Nikki Garcia (Nikki Bella) on WWE Raw red carpet

Things have been up and down between WWE and Nikki Garcia.

Nikki Garcia made a surprise return to WWE television on the January 6th episode of Raw, featuring in the crowd as the show debuted on Netflix. Garcia and her sister Brie, better known as The Bella Twins, starred for the company between 2007 and 2018 before being inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Since ending her full-time career, Garcia has spoken out against WWE on more than one occasion. Nikki and Brie’s mother was also married to disgraced former WWE Executive John Laurinaitis but in October 2024 Kathy Colace confirmed that the pair are now divorced.

In recent years Laurinaitis has been the subject of several allegations of sexual abuse and serious misconduct. In January 2024, he was named alongside Vince McMahon and WWE in a lawsuit filed by Janel Grant which contained allegations of sexual abuse and sex trafficking.

With all of that in mind, fans were surprised when Nikki Garcia appeared in the crowd on Raw after describing the company as “home” in an interview on the red carpet.

Nikki Garcia And WWE Have Mended Their Relationship

On a new episode of the Nikki & Brie Show following Raw, the former Divas Champion opened up about her relationship with WWE, admitting things haven’t always been easy.

“As everyone knows, the one thing about family, whether it’s a business family or your actual family, there is always at some point a rocky road. That’s life. It happens, and emotions happen. We had that rocky road with WWE.

The one thing, as I’ve grown over the past few years and have continued to work on myself, I realized times where I’ve made outbursts out of emotions that I probably shouldn’t have done, and then there are times where I can recognize that I felt hurt and I wanted to be heard, but it probably wasn’t the right thing to do. This is why things were rocky.

I felt all these emotions because I felt at home, and I was so happy to be home. Then, to be so accepted and loved felt so incredible because things were rocky, and there is nothing better than…..when you have that moment of making up and knowing this bond is so strong because it is pretty much like blood, and we just are family and will always be connected.

There is no better feeling than going back home and feeling that. Knowing we’ve mended everything and had great conversations……It was like being at Christmas dinner or a family reunion.

All is well, we’ve all made up, and I recognize that we are very fortunate to be part of not only such a great company but to be in a place where we’ve seen this place grow so much. It felt so good.”

Nikki Garcia recently settled her divorce with her now ex-husband Artem Chigvintsev after he was arrested at their home following a domestic incident in August. The pair reached an agreement before their divorce proceedings went to court, and they will share custody of their four-year-old son.

The WWE Hall of Famer hasn’t wrestled since making an appearance in the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble, but she’s refused to rule out a comeback.
