Nick Khan Dives Into Debate On WWE Pay
Nick Khan has commented on WWE pay.
WWE contracts have been a huge talking point in recent months since Jazmyn Nyx revealed that she turned down a new deal to remain in NXT, as it didn’t make financial sense.
More recently, Ridge Holland’s comments about not being able to pay his mortgage after WWE decided against renewing his contract have also sparked a huge conversation. This saw Scarlett Bordeaux publicly reveal that she and Karrion Kross are now making more money since leaving the company.
Nick Khan Says WWE Stars Are Living The Good Life
During an appearance on Ring Magazine’s Inside The Ring podcast, WWE President Nick Khan dived into a whole host of topics, including TKO’s shift into the world of boxing, and just how much WWE stars get paid.
Khan said that while in boxing, fighters have traditionally been split into the haves and have-nots, in WWE, things are a little different.
“It’s a meritocracy. If you make it to the top and you’re marketable — you get paid. That’s how any job should be. Your job, my job, any job.
Similarly in WWE, if you’re Roman Reigns, if you’re Brock Lesnar, if you’re Cody Rhodes, all the guys at the top of our game, CM Punk. They’re getting rich. If you’re in the middle, you’re not getting rich but you have a really good life. In boxing, to your point, it’s not that way. It’s not that way. There’s really only rich or not rich.”
Speaking elsewhere, Nick Khan described Brock Lesnar as a “gem” to work with, adding that WWE is “honored” to have him back.
Lesnar was off television from SummerSlam 2023 until SummerSlam 2025 after his name appeared in Janel Grant’s sex trafficking lawsuit against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis. There had been plans for the star to return to the ring in early 2024, but those plans were dropped.
