Nia Jax Returns To WWE On RAW

Nia Jax

The September 11th episode of WWE RAW concluded with a major surprise as Nia Jax made a surprise return.

The main-event of the show was a Women’s World Championship between Rhea Ripley and Raquel Rodriguez. The match lasted through several segments and ended up being one of the most competitive matches of Ripley’s championship reign.

Rodriguez got close to winning but then she was attacked by a Nia Jax, who appeared out of nowhere and hit her with a Samoan Drop on the ringside mats.

Jax then tossed Rodriguez into the ring and Ripley capitalized on this with a Riptide Pumphandle powerbomb to pin Rodriguez and retain her title.

But just because Jax attacked Rodriguez didn’t mean that she was on Ripley’s side. Ripley didn’t have much time to celebrate her title defense because Jax attacked her moments later with a guillotine leg drop onto a second rope and a Yokozuna-style diving sitting splash to close the show.

Nia Jax returns to WWE for the first time since January 2023

The last time Nia Jax was in WWE was earlier this year when she was the 30th entrant in the Women’s Royal Rumble match. She was eliminated after only two minutes because eleven women briefly worked together to eliminate her from the match.

Prior to that, Jax wrestled in WWE from 2014 to 2021. During that time she won the RAW Women’s Championship once and the Women’s Tag Team Championship twice with Shayna Baszler.

Jax had remained quiet about a possible return to wrestling after her time away from WWE, but she broke that silence last month when she revealed she was training for a return to the ring.

At the time, Jax only mentioned a return “to the ring” and didn’t specify that she had WWE in mind.
