New Year’s Evil Delivers High-Stakes NXT Women’s Title Drama
The first episode of NXT of the new year was off with a bang when the Women’s North American Champion, Thea Hail, was attacked by her challenger, Blake Monroe.
Her actions didn’t get her anywhere, though, and Monroe was banned from the building by the NXT General Manager, Ava, which meant the second match of the night was the first, which featured a title defense.
After becoming the 2025 Women’s Iron Survivor, Kendel Grey challenged Jacy Jayne for the NXT Women’s Championship tonight. Things have become quite heated between the two over the past few weeks.
Jacy Jayne retains the NXT Women’s Championship
The match was off to a brutal start as the champion took control of the early stages of the match. Jayne maintained the upper hand over Kendal from the start as she looked to retain her title.
However, Grey’s athleticism and grit didn’t keep her down for long as she mounted a comeback. Both of them had wrestlers in their corner, which came into play at times during the match, but the numbers advantage lay with the champion.

Despite Grey and Wrenn Sinclair’s attempts to take out Fatal Influence, Falon Henley found a way to cost Kendal her opportunity to win the championship as she held Jacy in place when Kendal went for the win, allowing Jacy to take advantage and get the pin.
