New Update On Sasha Banks’ Wrestle Kingdom 17 Status
The latest update on the possible appearance of Sasha Banks appearing at NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 17 show indicates signs look good for the Japanese promotion.
Sasha Banks has been the talk of the wrestling world since it emerged that she is scheduled to make an appearance for NJPW at Wrestle Kingdom 17 on the 4th of January 2023. There has been no confirmation as to Banks’ WWE status, meaning the deal has created a lot of questions surrounding her future.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider has now reported that “sources within New Japan Pro Wrestling” have confirmed that Sasha Banks was “en route to Japan” as of 8 pm ET on the 20th of December. Banks will be in the country until her appearance at Wrestle Kingdom 17 on the 4th of January although it is still unknown in what fashion that appearance will be.
If Sasha Banks does make her NJPW debut on the show, many fans are expecting that she may confront the winner of the match for the IWGP Women’s Championship between challenger Tam Nakano and current champion and former WWE star, KAIRI. It is also likely that should The Boss appear she will use her real name Mercedes Varnado as Sasha Banks is copyright owned by WWE.
