New AEW Faction Could Be On The Way

The Firm Deletion match looked to end the issues between Matt Hardy and Ethan Page and The Firm but following AEW Rampage, things might not be that simple.

The cinematic Firm Deletion match saw Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Isiah Kassidy, and HOOK defeat Big Bill, Ethan Page, Stokely Hathaway, and Lee Moriarty to free Matt Hardy and Kassidy from the clutches of The Firm.

The Hardys and Kassidy appeared on Rampage to discuss what was next for them moving forward with Jeff Hardy targetting the AEW World Tag Team Championship but they were soon interrupted by former champions The Gunns. Austin and Colten Gunn – who were originally part of The Firm when the group debuted – then emerged with Ethan Page to announce a challenge for a six-man tag team match against The Hardys and Kassidy.

In a twist of fate, Matt Hardy revealed that they’d only accept the challenge if they got control of Page’s contract should his team win. A stipulation that The Gunns were only too happy to accept.

The move might come as a surprise given the Firm Deletion match to put All Ego back with Matt Hardy after splitting up but it looks like that might be on the cards in AEW.

Rampage also saw WWE Executive Chairman Vince McMahon get a name check – and perhaps not one McMahon would be too thrilled about.
