New Adam Cole Injury Update
A new update appears to shed a little more light in to the injury suffered by Adam Cole, and that it isn’t the only time it’s happened recently.
Competing in the four-way contest for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at Forbidden Door, Adam Cole was pinned by title holder Jay White in what many considered a sudden end to the contest which also included Kazuchika Okada and Adam Page.
It was later reported that he had suffered a concussion during the match. In a new update from Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live, it would seem that the concussion was suffered early on in the match, and is the second one Adam Cole has suffered in the space of a month.
Adam Cole suffered what was believed to be a concussion in his match for the IWGP Heavyweight Title. It was Jay White, Okada, and Hangman [as his opponents]. I don’t know the move, I don’t know when, I was given the impression that it was somewhat early in the match and then he worked the entire rest of the match with a concussion.
For whatever reason, it wasn’t until later in the match he was in there with Okada, Okada went for the Rainmaker, Cole was supposed to duck which he did and then he just stayed down. Jay White jumped in the ring, tossed Okada out of the ring, rolled over Cole, held him down, and pinned him.
Afterward the doctor hit the ring to check on Adam Cole and he did leave under his own power. I was told when they took him backstage to examine him he was feeling alright was what I was told. But clearly, there was an injury. He’s been working with a shoulder injury – if you watch the show his shoulder’s all taped up and he had another injury in the Samoa Joe which I believe was also a concussion. So he had two concussions in the span of a month and he needs time off to get better. And hopefully, he gets a lot of time off to get better.
