Natalya Celebrates Award Success Outside WWE

Natalya

WWE star Natalya has reason to celebrate as she made more history after receiving a prestigious award.

Natalya has made more than her fair share of history as a WWE Superstar. The former SmackDown Women’s Champion is a Guinness World Record holder through her exploits in the company that have spanned almost twenty years.

Natalya failed in her quest to become WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion on the August 18th edition of Raw when she lost to Becky Lynch. Lynch continued her assault on Natalya and Maxxine Dupri after the bout, leading to WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella taking out The Man to make the save.

Although she failed to capture gold on that occasion, Natalya has been awarded for her groundbreaking career.

Natalya Celebrates Award Success

Taking to social media, Natalya shared a photo of herself and husband TJ Wilson with her Lou Thesz Award that she received from the Cauliflower Alley Club:

To be the first woman to be awarded the prestigious Lou Thesz award means so much to me as Lou Thesz is held as a standard bearer in wrestling.

Like everything worth spending a life chasing, the wrestling business has never been easy. It’s not easy today. It never gets easy, and if it ever does, I’ll know that’s when it’s time to hang them up.

Thank you so much @caulifloweralleyclub for thinking of me. ❤️

The Cauliflower Alley Club is a non-profit organisation that celebrates the legends of the wrestling industry while also helping those from the business who find themselves in need.

Previous winners of the Lou Thesz/Art Abrams Lifetime Achievement Award that Natalya won include Ron Simmons, Rob Van Dam, Shawn Michaels, Wendi Richter, Mick Foley, Jim Ross, Verne Gagne, Jack Brisco, and Antonio Inoki. The award was first presented in 1997, with the first recipient being the trailblazing female star, Penny Banner.
