Naomi Confirms WWE Departure
Former SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi has seemingly confirmed that her time in WWE is over, bringing an end to ten months of speculation.
Back on May 15th, 2022 Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out of an episode of Monday Night Raw due to being frustrated over their creative direction as the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. They handed over their title belts to then-Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis before their exit and were later stripped of the championship and publicly suspended by the company.
Sasha Banks has since departed WWE with neither party commenting on her exit. She has re-emerged on the wrestling scene in New Japan Pro Wrestling as Mercedes Mone, making her debut at Wrestle Kingdom on the 4th of January 2023.
While reports had suggested Naomi could return to WWE, it now seems her time in the company is over after she posted a response on social media to a fan asking if she was still there, simply writing “no frien’.”
It remains to be seen if the star who has changed all her social media handles to her real name of Trinity Fatu will return to the wrestling ring for another company sometime in the future.
