Mysterious WWE Vignette Airs On SmackDown
A mystery vignette on WWE SmackDown has left fans guessing what it could mean for the future.
Two videos were shown on WWE SmackDown from Barcelona that teased the debut of new superstars, or perhaps the return of a familiar face.
One of the videos featured a masked luchador training in the ring and walking the ropes with their mystery concealed by an orange light. The mystery man was shown on the top rope looking ready to leap. It appeared as though it was for the WWE debut of Rey Fenix, who is a former AEW Tag Team Champion and Trios Tag Team Champion.
Rey Fenix is the younger brother of WWE superstar Penta, who has quickly become a big star in the company.
It has been reported that Fenix and Penta will likely reunite in WWE as the Lucha Brothers again.
WWE SmackDown Vignette Features The Number 4
In addition to the vignette that could be for Rey Fenix, there was a 15-second video that featured a dark room with some smoke filling the screen. There was no person in the video, but there was the number “4” that appeared.
What it actually means at this point isn’t known, but there is a SmackDown episode in Chicago on April 4th, which could lead to somebody appearing on SmackDown that night.
The smoky part of the scene has led to speculation that it could lead to former AEW wrestler Malakai Black returning to WWE. Before signing with AEW in July 2021, he was known as WWE’s Aleister Black from 2016 until his release in June 2021.
Black’s wife Zelina Vega works for WWE on the SmackDown brand, so whenever Black appears in WWE again, he’ll likely be on the blue brand too.
