MVP Lashes Out At “Idiots Behind The Computer” & Star Ratings
MVP has given some advice to his fellow wrestling stars – pay attention to the crowd and not star ratings decided by one person.
MVP has decades of experience to share in the wrestling business, with runs in WWE, TNA, NJPW, and currently AEW to his name. He made a rare foray into the ring himself at WrestleDream, where he teamed with his Hurt Syndicate partners Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin in a major trios match with The Demand.
The Hurt Syndicate picked up the win to make themselves the number one contenders for the AEW Trios Title, currently held by The Opps. The Opps shockingly turned heel at WrestleDream when they took out Adam Page after he retained his AEW World Championship against Samoa Joe.
But one thing MVP won’t be doing after his big match is seeking out reports or newsletters to find out what his star rating is. And he’s urged his fellow wrestlers to follow his lead.
MVP No Fan Of Star Ratings
In a clip released on social media for his Marking Out podcast, MVP sends a direct message to his peers as he urges them to forget about one person and focus on making the crowd react to their work:
For you wrestlers, especially you young men and women coming up. Your star rating is the audience giving you that applause at the end of your match. When you get a pop on the 1-2-3, that is your payoff, that’s your star rating. The fans will let you know how good your match is. Don’t leave it up to some idiot behind the computer saying how good your match was or wasn’t.
