More John Cena Last Time Is Now Entrants Revealed
The Last Time Is Now tournament kicked off on WWE Raw, and now more stars have been revealed as in the mix to be John Cena’s final opponent.
John Cena will bring the curtain down on his legendary career at December 13th’s Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, D.C. The matter of Cena’s final opponent has been the subject of much scrutiny over his final year in the ring, and WWE has opened up the field to give plenty of stars their chance to stand across the ring from Cena.
The Last Time Is Now tournament is pitting 16 WWE stars against each other in a single-elimination tournament. The prize at the end is simple: they will have the honour of sharing the ring with John Cena in his final match. That has taken on a whole new meaning after Cena shockingly won WWE gold on Raw in Boston.
That tournament kicked off on the November 10th edition of Raw with Sheamus picking up a victory over Shinsuke Nakamura – a man who had been linked with another wrestling legend’s retirement match. Cena’s WrestleMania 31 opponent, Rusev, also advanced to the semi-finals with a win over Damian Priest.
John Cena Could Face Gunther, Je’Von Evans Or Solo Sikoa
On the November 14th edition of SmackDown, The Miz and Jey Uso will clash in the tournament, with LA Knight also taking on a mystery opponent.
Now, WWE has revealed the next set of brackets, and they see former World Heavyweight Champion Gunther return to the ring after a three-month absence. The Ring General will clash with NXT star Je’Von Evans in the first round, with Solo Sikoa also set to meet another mystery entrant. The final first-round clashes are set to take place on the November 21st edition of SmackDown, but those entrants have yet to be revealed.
