MJF Says He “Won The War” As He Confirms Staggering AEW Salary

MJF poses with Dynamite Diamond Ring

MJF is being paid very well by AEW.

After spending months talking about the “bidding war of 2024” and hinting he could jump to WWE, MJF ended up staying put.

Following Worlds End 2023, the star went on a lengthy hiatus, not returning to Double or Nothing in May of the following year. During this period, it was reported that MJF had signed a new AEW contract, although there was no word on how long the deal would last.

Speaking after details of the contract became public, he confirmed there’d been interest from WWE.

MJF Lifts Lid On AEW Earnings

During a new interview with Jimmy Traina on the SI Media Podcast, MJF discussed a wide range of topics, including his contract status. Although he denied being paid $15 million per year, the former World Champion claimed the total value of his contract is well beyond that.

“What I will tell you is the amount of money that I get by the time it is over far surpasses 15 million. I am making top guy money, whether it be an All Elite wrestling contract or a WWE contract.

I will say this: I am 28 years old. Every single top act in professional wrestling besides me is either in their late 30s, late 40s, or early 50s. So yeah, for the people who are panicked, ‘Oh my gosh. Am I ever gonna get to see MJF outside of All Elite Wrestling? Am I ever gonna get to see MJF in this place, that place?’

Look, the reason I was paid top dollar is because I’m a generational talent. I won the bidding war. WWE didn’t win the bidding war. All Elite Wrestling didn’t win the bidding war. I won the bidding war because I am making an absurd amount of money.

By the time the contract is up, I will still be absurdly young, and then I will be able once again, to make an absurd amount of money in the next bidding war. And you know who’s going to win again, me.”

The star will be back in action at AEW Revolution on March 9 when he takes on Hangman Adam Page. The card is set to be topped by the AEW World Championship match between Jon Moxley and his latest challenger, Cope.
