MJF To Make Two Title Defences At AEW Full Gear
MJF will be a busy man at AEW Full Gear.
It’s long been known that the star would be defending the AEW World Title against Jay White, but his schedule just got a whole lot more difficult.
On Dynamite it was announced that MJF will also be defending the gold against Kenny Omega on the October 28th episode of Collision. The match will be the first time the pair have met one-on-one. Should Omega win, he’ll prevent the Salt of the Earth from breaking his record and becoming the longest-reigning World Champion in company history.
Elsewhere on the show, MJF defeated Juice Robinson to win the Dynamite Diamond Ring for the third year in a row. However, after the match, he was attacked by Bullet Club Gold, only for The Acclaimed to run in and make the save.
Safe from harm, MJF was then challenged by The Gunns who wanted to face the star for the ROH World Tag Team Titles at Full Gear, and a defiant champion accepted.
With Adam Cole still sidelined with a broken ankle, it appears that MJF will again defend the gold by himself as he did at WrestleDream. On that occasion, he overcame The Righteous.
There is no word on when Cole will be back in action, but he recently described his recent struggles as the most challenging injury of his career.
When Did MJF And Adam Cole win The ROH Tag Team Titles?
Although MJF and Adam Cole began the year as rivals, they became partners and friends after being thrown together in July. The friends went on to win the ROH Tag Team Titles at All In at Wembley Stadium back in August — this was despite also squaring off for the AEW World Title in the main event.
