MJF Issues Statement Regarding Controversial AEW Dynamite Segment
MJF has commented on a segment that got people talking for all of the wrong reasons on AEW Dynamite.
The World Champion appeared on stage after Jay White defeated Adam Page on Title Tuesday. White had stolen the title from MJF on the previous week’s show and felt he was already the champion even though he had yet to win it. With the rest of Bullet Club Gold in the ring, MJF remained on the entrance ramp.
To finish the exchange, Juice Robinson took the microphone and revealed that he would enter himself in the Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royal. Robinson then declared that he would give MJF a present, then revealing that he had a roll of quarters in his pocket. The crowd were silent upon the reveal and uncomfortable with the angle. The World Champion angrily stormed off to close out the segment.
The quarters are a reference to a traumatic story that MJF recounted from his childhood where he was targeted, beaten and called anti-Semitic slurs.
Taking to social media after Dynamite went off the air, the World Champion blasted Juice Robinson for his behaviour on Dynamite:
Tonight that piece of sh*t, Juice Robinson decided to bring up a story from my childhood that has left me scared. I’m glad he did. He brought awareness to something we’ve all gone through in one way, shape, or form in our lives. On behalf of anyone who’s ever been bullied for being different in any capacity. I look forward to leaving him scared too. I also look forward to this Thursday #StandUpToJewishHate
