MJF is going to have some backup at Full Gear.

It has already been announced that MJF will be defending the ROH World Tag Team Titles against The Gunns at the show. At the time of the announcement, it was presumed that the star would be going it alone as he had done at All Out.

Adam Cole who won the gold with MJF back at All In is currently out injured and is expected to be missing for the foreseeable future after suffering a broken ankle.

However, it seems that this might not be the case. In a post on social media, AEW confirmed the match for the Full Gear pre-show but noted that MJF will have a mystery partner. There’s no word on who the mystery partner will be, although Samoa Joe has previously offered assistance in return for a World Title shot.

MJF On Brink Of AEW Record

On the October 28th episode of Collision, MJF made the latest defence of the AEW World Championship against Kenny Omega. Despite being pushed all the way by the ‘Best Bout Machine,’ the champion pulled out the win in what has been called an “instant classic” by fans.”

With the victory, MJF ensured that he’ll become the longest-reigning AEW World Champion in history, surpassing the previous landmark of 346 days set by Omega. The match was the star’s eighth title defence since winning AEW’s richest prize back at Full Gear 2022.

The ‘Salt of the Earth’s’ next defence is scheduled for Full Gear when he puts the gold on the line against Jay White.

Elsewhere on the show, Toni Storm will challenge Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women’s World Title, and Christian Cage, Luchasaurus & Nick Wayne will take on Sting, Darby Allin and a mystery partner.
