MJF Thinks Christian Cage Is Doing “Best Work” Of His Career
The AEW World Champion MJF is praising the TNT Champion Christian Cage for performing at an extremely high level.
In the main event of AEW’s WrestleDream pay-per-view tonight in Seattle, Christian Cage will defend the TNT Championship against Darby Allin, who is from Seattle.
Ever since Luchasaurus won the TNT Championship in June, Christian Cage acted as if he was actually the champion since he’s the “friend” of Luchasaurus.
On the September 23rd episode of Collision, Christian Cage won the TNT Championship for himself in a triple threat match between Luchasaurus and Darby Allin. Christian got the pin after Allin hit Luchasaurus with a Coffin Drop and Christian threw Allin out of the ring to steal the pin.
At 49 years old (he will turn 50 in November), Christian Cage is one of the oldest wrestlers in AEW, but he has shown no signs of slowing down. It’s been a remarkable run for a man who didn’t wrestle for about six years due to concussion issues. He signed with AEW two years ago and apparently plans to be there for a while.
Earlier this month, Christian Cage revealed that re-signed with AEW for a “big fat contract.”
MJF believes that Christian Cage is doing the best work of his career
For the past 25 years, Christian Cage has been a regular performer on television thanks to a very long career in WWE, a successful main event run in TNA Wrestling in the mid-2000s and this current in AEW as well.
AEW World Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman told Wrestlepurists that he believes Christian is performing as well as he ever has.
“There is Christian Cage, who I think is a schmuck, however, in my opinion, this is the best he’s been in his entire career. When I say that, it’s not hyperbolic. You know I’m right. Let’s think about how long Christian has been in the wrestling world. This is his best work, and he’s about to go in there with Darby Allin.”
“Have I beaten Darby with a headlock takeover twice? Absolutely, but I’m the best wrestler in the world. That’s not a fair comparison. Darby Allin is hands down, one of the most enigmatic and insane professional wrestlers in the history of the sport. Those two guys are going to go at for the TNT belt.”
What isn’t known regarding WrestleDream tonight is if Christian’s best friend Edge (Adam Copeland) will be signing with AEW since he’s no longer under contract to WWE and there is plenty of speculation that Edge could be AEW bound very soon.
