MJF Accused Of Cosplaying Triple H

MJF at AEW Double or Nothing 2024

MJF remains unpopular with one AEW star.

In late 2022, Ricky Starks found himself riding the crest of a wave of popularity that took him into the main event picture. This saw the star cross swords with MJF, both in the ring and on the microphone.

On the December 7th edition of Dynamite, MJF confronted Starks and proceeded to deliver a scathing promo calling him the “drizzling sh*ts” and “Dollar Store Dwayne” in reference to his likeness to The Rock.

In a new interview with Chris Van Vliet, Starks looked back on the promo battle, revealing there was nothing off the table between the pair.

“There are people that put down their rules with things they don’t want you to say. In that instance, me and Max have known each other for a while, and you could say we’re acquaintances, but I don’t like to say that because he’s a general piece of sh*t. The worst.

There was nothing off limits on me, and the only reason is, if you come at me hard, just know that I have a bullet loaded for you and you’re dead before you can say it. That’s how I operate.

Yes, there might be stuff, don’t say anything about my family or anything, but I’m exposed to the world. I’m in underwear.”

Ricky Starks Aim At MJF

While reflecting on the insults thrown his way, Starks remains unimpressed with MJF’s comments. The former Tag Team Champion scoffed at the idea he’s ripping off The Rock when MJF is cosplaying Triple H and Roddy Piper.

“Yeah, and he’s a rip-off of Roddy Piper. Max says all of that stuff about me, yet made a return in a leather cutoff jean jacket. How is it that I am trying to rip off The Rock and this guy, every day, is cosplaying Triple H, cosplaying Ric Flair, cosplaying Roddy Piper,”

Ricky Starks hasn’t wrestled on AEW television since March when he and Big Bill failed to get the better of Top Flight. At the time there were rumours that he was injured but these were denied, and he has essentially been frozen out.

It was recently reported that AEW picked up an option on Starks’ contract to keep him tied to the company well into 2025 despite seemingly having no plans to use him.
