Missing Star Almost Returned At AEW Revolution
An absent AEW star appears close to a return.
The main event of AEW Revolution ended in complete chaos with Wheeler Yuta and Jay White getting involved before Christian Cage cashed in his contract for a shot at the World Championship. However, when all was said and done, it was Jon Moxley who retained the gold after seeing off Cage and Cope.
Not that he was allowed too long to celebrate as he was attacked by Swerve Strickland as the show went off the air. Earlier in the night, Strickland became the number one contender for Moxley’s crown after beating Ricochet.
In the days after Revolution, it was reported that AEW scrapped an “alternate ending” that would have included “some returns.” So, just who nearly came back?
AEW Considered Return For Absent Star
As reported by Fightful Select, Luchasaurus, also known as Killswitch, was backstage at the show, and there were discussions about him being used. Interestingly, when Fightful asked about his potential involvement in the “alternate ending,” those same sources went “very quiet.”
Back in September, Luchasaurus collapsed and was diagnosed with pneumonia in both lungs and was told he was days away from suffering permanent lung damage.
A further report suggested he had suffered a series of complications, and doctors discovered calcification in a heart valve and that his body wasn’t producing enough iron. Not only were there fears the star may never wrestle again, there were also very real concerns for his life.
In the most recent update on the situation in December, it was noted that Luchasaurus was doing “much better” and working towards a comeback.
Luchasaurus hasn’t wrestled since taking part in the Casino Gauntlet Match at All In on August 25, and it’s unclear whether he’s been cleared to return.
