Missing AEW Star Spotted Training After Requesting Release
One AEW star not seen in the company since 2023 has re-emerged publicly but not in Tony Khan’s promotion.
Miro hasn’t wrestled since defeating Andrade El Idolo at Worlds End in December 2023. During a hit-and-miss spell with the company, the star has wrestled just 11 times since November 2021.
Back in April, Miro revealed he’s been struggling with shoulder and elbow injuries sustained towards the end of 2023, however, he said he was rehabbing and working on a return. Unfortunately, this was followed by a report claiming Miro was “behind schedule” in his recovery.
During his absence, the former WWE star’s now-ex-wife CJ Perry revealed the couple had separated. Perry later left AEW but has yet to return to wrestling.
Miro Wants Out Of AEW
In September 2024, it emerged that Miro had requested his release from AEW but it does not appear as if this has been granted. His deal with AEW is expected to run into 2026 while the company could add more time to his deal due to his extended injury absences.
During his absence, Miro has been keeping busy it seems as he has appeared at Coastal Championship Wrestling’s training facility alongside another former WWE star in Gangrel.

While Miro’s future in Tony Khan’s company continues to look bleak, another AEW star has hit out at those suggesting they’re on their way out of the promotion after a recent loss.
