Missing AEW Star Teases Return After Suspension

One AEW star who has been absent since being suspended by the company has teased their return as part of a hunt for championship gold.

Adam Copeland has revealed he needs surgery on a broken tibia following his match with Malakai Black at Double Or Nothing and that means he will be out of action for quite some time. AEW’s EVPs The Young Bucks took matters into their own hands in regards to Copeland’s title on Dynamite in Los Angeles as they stripped him of the title.

Their true intentions then became clear as they vowed to hand the title to Jack Perry – the only member of The Elite without a championship.

However, Christopher Daniels – who had been fired by The Young Bucks previously – returned with the new title of Interim EVP and relayed a message from Tony Khan that the next TNT Champion will be crowned via a ladder match at Forbidden Door and if Perry wants the gold he’ll have to earn it like everybody else. Qualifying matches will take place for the ladder match and it was noted by Daniels that no interference or seconds will be allowed for those matches.

One star previously suspended by AEW was paying attention to that announcement.

Sammy Guevara Teases AEW Return

Taking to social media, Sammy Guevara posted a clip of his TNT Championship ladder match with Cody Rhodes as well as a photo of himself as TNT Champion hinting that he could be interested in qualifying for the Forbidden Door title match.

Sammy Guevara has not competed in AEW since the 24th of February edition of Collision where he lost to Powerhouse Hobbs. Guevara was suspended by the company after a prior match against Jeff Hardy went wrong leading to Hardy suffering an injury. The belief is that Guevara’s suspension has since expired leaving him free to return to the company in that respect.

The first AEW star has already qualified for the Forbidden Door ladder match after winning a bout that will air on the 31st of May edition of Rampage.
