Minoru Suzuki Lays Out AEW Champion
Chris Jericho was confronted by a ghost from his past as he came face-to-face with someone crazy enough to ignore The Learning Tree – Minoru Suzuki.
For weeks now, Chris Jericho has been spouting his wisdom to anyone who will listen and those who won’t as AEW’s Learning Tree. The FTW Champion has brought in Big Bill and Bryan Keith to the Jericho Vortex with the group taking out HOOK, Katsuyori Shibata, and writing Samoa Joe off AEW TV for quite some time after driving him through a wall.
With Keith suffering an apparent injury for Forbidden Door he couldn’t take his place in a trios match meaning Jericho had to seek help from elsewhere. Chris Jericho and Big Bill ended up teaming with NJPW World Television Champion Jeff Cobb but that was not Jericho’s first choice of partner.
Jericho had looked to recruit NJPW’s Minoru Suzuki who he had previously teamed with at Forbidden Door but Suzuki had other ideas. Instead of agreeing to team with Chris Jericho, Suzuki challenged him for the FTW Championship.
Minoru Suzuki Gets AEW Title Match
Now on the 250th edition of Dynamite, Minoru Suzuki has come face-to-face with Chris Jericho as Jericho hosted his TV Time segment. Suzuki carried a contract with him, simply telling Jericho “Next week” indicating that their title clash would take place at Dynamite Blood & Guts.
Bryan Keith snatched the contract and read that both he and Big Bill would be banned from ringside for the match before Minoru Suzuki headbutted Chris Jericho to end the segment.
