Mick Foley thinks Stephanie McMahon leaving WWE is a good thing…for Stephanie.

Stephanie McMahon has experienced a lot of change and unpredictability over the past nine months or so. Her husband Triple H retired from in-ring competition after experiencing health problems. That led to her taking a leave of absence, which was then negated when her father Vince McMahon left the company.

When he left, she became interim chairwoman of the entire company, and later, (sole) chairwoman and co-CEO. And then earlier this year, she left WWE after Vince returned and now her future remains uncertain, at least as it relates to WWE.

With all of these changes happening in such a short period, Mick Foley, who has worked closely with Stephanie McMahon many times, thinks that now is a good time for her to step away from WWE for a long time.

Speaking on his Foley is Pod podcast, Foley proposed that Stephanie focus on herself and on her family for the next three years instead of on anything WWE- or business-related.

“I think it’s a good time stepping away because Triple H is back as head of creative. You’re talking about parents that are on the road a lot, working full time at a time when the girls are in their teen years.

Yeah, I think it’s a good time to step away. She’s got the rest of her life ahead of her. … My guess is that she’ll be back at some point in WWE, but if she chooses a different career path, she can do anything she puts her mind on.”

Additionally, Mick Foley went on to praise Stephanie McMahon some more for being easy to work with and questioned why so many people still have negative attitudes towards her.

“I don’t know why she gets a bad rep. She’s easy to work with; she brings out the best in people she works with; she’s open to ideas; she has a work ethic that’s second to none.”
