Shawn Michaels Confirms Cody Rhodes Involvement For NXT Great American Bash
It’s now been confirmed what role Cody Rhodes will play in The Great American Bash.
The Rhodes name is steeped in the history of The Great American Bash, with Cody’s father ‘The American Dream’ Dusty Rhodes the one to coin the phrase in the first place. The first event took place in 1985 with Dusty beating Tully Blanchard for the TV Title in the Steel Cage Match main event.
It’s therefore logical that Cody Rhodes have some involvement, even though the event is being run by the NXT brand. Whilst Cody is on Raw, that’s not going to to stop him having some involvement in the black and gold brand’s showpiece event.
Having initially revealed his involvement in a recent interview, it was confirmed by Shawn Michaels during the event’s media call that Cody Rhodes will be doing the voiceover for the introduction to the event.

This isn’t a new concept for NXT to bring main roster stars in for voiceover work, as Charlotte Flair was behind the introduction for Vengeance Day back in February.
