Mercedes Mone Wants Veteran WWE Star To Join AEW
Mercedes Mone has a WWE superstar in mind to join AEW…if they become a free agent.
There has been a lot of free agency news about WWE superstars in the first six months of 2024. While some big names like Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Damian Priet, and many others signed new long-term deals, some people are moving on.
Ricochet is gone from WWE after letting his contract his expire and it’s expected that AEW will be interested in him. Meanwhile, Dijak revealed earlier this week that WWE is going to let his contract expire while noting that the process of negotiating a new deal was frustrating.
Another WWE veteran wrestler Natalya has been with the company since 2008 and has the most wins of any woman in WWE history, which is one of the many records she holds. On her Twitter/X bio, Natalya removed all WWE references, which has led to a lot of speculation about a possible departure since her contract is reportedly up soon.
Mercedes Mone knows Natalya very well since she was on the main roster with her for about seven years before Mone’s run as Sasha Banks in WWE ended in May 2022.
In an interview with Maggie and Perloff, Mone mentioned Natalya without saying her name while also mentioning Natalya’s husband TJ Wilson (aka Tyson Kidd), who has been a top Producer in WWE for women’s matches for nearly a decade. Mone worked with Wilson a lot in putting on some memorable matches over the years.
“I would choose other rumored girls that I’ve heard that might be on the free agent list. So I think there’s a lot, by the way, out there. So I would say the more, the merrier, as long as you’re good. As long as you’re one of the best wrestlers in the world. Come over here because this is where the best wrestle.”
“I have heard little rumors of a certain girl that I really, really love. I don’t want to name names because if I say their name, then you know the other competition might just want to get them that much quicker. So, if we have a chance to get her, I would absolutely love her and her husband to be here. But that’s just that… Just go on X, Twitter, or Instagram. I’m sure the fans will figure it out.”
Mercedes Mone Looking To Add Second Championship At AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door
Fans of Mercedes Mone will get to see the TBS Champion in action this Sunday, June 30th at the AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door PPV. At Forbidden Door, Mone will face CMLL’s Stephanie Vaquer in a match for the TBS Champion and the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship held by Vaquer. That means one woman will be leaving Forbidden Door with two titles.
Many people would consider Mercedes Mone to be the favorite in the match since she is undefeated in singles matches in All Elite Wrestling.
