Mercedes Mone has hit back at reports over why she left WWE during a bizarre encounter with a fan at a recent signing.
Mercedes Mone is best known to WWE fans as Sasha Banks following her stellar career in the company that saw her win the NXT, Raw, and SmackDown Women’s Championships. Banks also headlined WrestleMania 37 when she lost the SmackDown Women’s Title to Bianca Belair.
In May 2022 Sasha Banks and Naomi walked out of WWE while still holding the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship due to apparent growing frustration at their creative direction. Naomi is now known as Trinity and is the current IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Champion while Banks was re-born as Mercedes Mone and in her first match for New Japan Pro Wrestling captured the IWGP Women’s Championship.
Mone is currently out of action after suffering an injury but was seen watching on in Wembley Stadium at AEW All In perhaps hinting at where her future lies when she recovers.
Mercedes Mone shuts down fan’s questions
The CEO was recently part of a signing and a video shared online shows an ugly scene when Mone hits back at a fan who bizarrely demands to know exactly why she left WWE after Mone rejects his assertion that it was down to creative issues in the company. Mone asks the fan if they’ll see her interview or read her book when the time comes to tell her story in full before telling him to wait for those to find out.

Should Mercedes Mone choose to join AEW when she is fully recovered from her injury woes, it would come as a welcome boost to Tony Khan’s women’s division which recently lost Jade Cargill to WWE.
