Mercedes Mone Getting A Blunt And Wine Ready For Vince McMahon Documentary

Mercedes Mone AEW Dynamite debut

Mercedes Mone can’t wait for the new Vince McMahon documentary.

On September 25th, the six-part docuseries “Mr. McMahon” will finally premiere on Netflix. The documentary will take a look at the life and career of McMahon and the recent allegations made against him.

In January, former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE containing allegations of sex trafficking and sexual abuse. In the weeks after the allegations went public, McMahon left his role on the TKO Group board but continues to deny any wrongdoing.

Although much of the documentary was finished before the allegations went public, they will be featured in the finished project.

Ahead of the documentary’s release, McMahon released a short statement on social media claiming the series is “misleading” and falls short of telling the full story.

I don’t regret participating in this Netflix documentary. The producers had an opportunity to tell an objective story about my life and the incredible business I built, which were equally filled with excitement, drama, fun, and a fair amount of controversy and life lessons.

Unfortunately, based on an early partial cut I’ve seen, this doc falls short and takes the predictable path of conflating the “Mr. McMahon” character with my true self, Vince. The title and promos alone make that evident.

A lot has been misrepresented or left out entirely in an effort to leave viewers intentionally confused. The producers use typical editing tricks with out of context footage and dated soundbites etc. to distort the viewers’ perception and support a deceptive narrative.

In an attempt to further their misleading account, the producers use a lawsuit based on an affair I ended as evidence that I am, in fact, “Mr. McMahon”.

I hope the viewer will keep an open mind and remember that there are two sides to every story.

Following the release of the statement, it was reported that Vince McMahon attempted to buy the documentary from Netflix after seeing early cuts of the project.

Mercedes Mone Will Be Watching

During an appearance on WFAN, Mercedes Mone was asked about the documentary on her former boss. The AEW star said that while she doesn’t really know anything about the series, she’ll be watching with a blunt and a glass of wine in hand.

“I haven’t been talking to anybody. I stay in my locker room and stay in my lane. All I do know [is] I’m going to grab a blunt, I’m going to get some wine, and I’m going to be watching some Netflix. I can’t wait.”

Mone worked for McMahon and WWE from 2012 until 2022 when she and fellow Women’s Tag Team Champion Naomi quit the company during a taping for Monday Night Raw. It was reported at the time that their departure came following a row over creative, although neither the company, Mone nor Naomi has ever publicly confirmed this.

During an interview back in March shortly before her AEW debut, Mercedes Mone admitted she’ll one day return to WWE.
