After capturing the IWGP Women’s Championship, Mercedes Mone opened up on a possible WWE return.

Mercedes Mone made a spectacular return to in-ring action as NJPW Battle In The Valley on Saturday night.

Following the match between two former WWE Superstars, Mone was asked about the likelihood of a return to her former employer.

Speaking with ESPN, Mercedes Mone teased the possibility, refusing to rule it, whilst hinting its not on the current agenda.

“I guess people like to say ‘never say never.’ You never know in life. I never knew life would take me here, but I always have to follow my heart so wherever my heart takes me is where I’m going to go.”

The stacked Battle In The Valley card was headlined by Mercedes Mone v KAIRI and also included a Loser Leaves NJPW match between Jay White and AEW’s Eddie Kingston.

Before the pay per view, Mone shared how Triple H was amongst those to reach out with messages of support ahead of her NJPW debut.

Despite not having a match since May last year, Mone was in fine form and delivered the Mone Maker to gain the win, becoming only the second person to hold the IWGP Women’s Championship.

Mone has now set her sights on a potential showdown with current UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion and the two-time UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion, Amanda Nunes.

“She’s ready to go, I’m ready to go too. I took on Ronda (Rousey), I can do it.”

Ronda Rousey suffered only her second ever defeat in UFC, by first round knockout at the hands of Amanda Nunes during the main event of UFC 207. After the loss, Rousey left the Octagon and joined WWE.
