Maxxine Dupri Pens Emotional Message After Winning First-Ever WWE Title
Maxxine Dupri was crowned the new Women’s Intercontinental Champion on Monday.
On November 17, Dupri defeated Becky Lynch via pinfall, thus claiming her first-ever championship in the Stamford promotion.
The feud between her and Lynch had been ongoing for a few months.
Seeing herself as a superior performer and an ex-women’s world champion, Lynch often looked down upon Dupri, who had barely been featured extensively.
It culminated in two previous matches, both of which Dupri won—one via Count Out and the other by Disqualification.
Their third match was not shy of any issues either, as Becky regularly clashed with referee Jessika Carr.
The Irish superstar even attempted to cheat by trying to untie the protective cover on the turnbuckle, only for AJ Lee’s music to play. Lee had returned for the first time since Wrestlepalooza.
It caused a distraction for the champion, who failed to kick out of Maxxine Dupri’s cross-body block, thus losing the championship.
