Matt Hardy has revealed that his brother Jeff’s physical health and mental well-being have both improved recently.

Matt spoke with Bully Ray and Dave LaGreca on Busted Open Radio and the subject soon turned to substance abuse. Both Matt and Jeff Hardy have had their issues with drugs/alcohol/both over the years, but Jeff Hardy’s have been far more pronounced and serious. As Matt discussed his own DUI from 2011, questions soon arose about Jeff’s status.

Matt gave curious listeners a positive update, saying that those close to him, and especially his wife Beth, are happy with Jeff’s progress.

“He seems to be doing really well. The conversations I’ve had with him have been really, really good, and the most important barometer, I think, of all these things, is that his wife Beth is super happy with his progress and where he’s at in life, and I think that’s probably most important.”

Matt went on to say that Jeff’s health is of paramount importance to him and that he’d be OK if Jeff never wrestled again so long as he could be healthy and happy, and be able to spend time with his family.

However, while Jeff Hardy’s physical and mental health may be on the upswing, his legal issues are not. Jeff’s DUI arrest in June was his third in the state of Florida in ten years, which makes it a third-degree felony. If convicted, Jeff Hardy could face a fine of up to $100,000 and up to 15 years in prison.
