Mark Henry Wants AEW To Sign Recently Released WWE Stars

Whilst there are a couple of names which pop to mind, Mark Henry has picked one released WWE star who should be at the top of AEW’s wishlist.

It was a tough week for many last week. Whilst the formation of TKO Group Holdings to bring WWE and UFC under one banner is seen by many as a positive, there was always a risk of roster cuts. These took place fairly dramatically, with the likes of Dana Brooke, Mustafa Ali, Dolph Ziggler and Elias all being let go by WWE.

Whilst these stars will likely have a 90-day no-compete clause, there will be plenty of eyes on where they could potentially end up for the next stage of their career.

Mark Henry Puts Released WWE Star “Top Of The List”

In a discussion on Busted Open Radio Mark Henry, who works both on-screen and as a coach for AEW, noted that Elias should be one of the guys the company go after. However, his signature would be trumped if they could get their hands on Dolph Ziggler.

Dolph Ziggler, top of the list. One of the best wrestlers in this modern era, in the last 10 years for sure. His first 15 years, he was kind of cutting his teeth, getting acclimated, and then the next four [years], he started to get in the main event picture, kind of being the foil for other people. But the last 10 years, Dolph Ziggler’s been one of the elite of the elite guys.

There are plenty within the wrestling industry who have praised Ziggler for his extended stay in WWE, with Rob Van Dam the latest to pay tribute.
