Mark Briscoe Confirms The Briscoes Nearly Debuted In WWE With Popular Stable

Briscoe Brothers Mark Briscoe ROH

The Briscoe Brothers were nearly WWE superstars who would have been with a group that left a lasting legacy in the company.

As the current Ring of Honor World Champion, Mark Briscoe is one of the biggest stars in AEW who is coming off a big win over Chris Jericho at the WrestleDream PPV.

For most of his career, Mark Briscoe was part of the legendary Briscoe Brothers tag team with his brother Jay. The duo was inducted into the ROH Hall of Fame and are considered by many people to be one of the best tag teams of the last 25 years.

Sadly, Jay Briscoe passed away in January 2023 due to a car accident that involved another driver crossing into his lane and causing a head on collision. Since his death, Mark has continued wrestling with AEW as a singles star.

While The Briscoes had an incredible career outside of WWE, Mark confirmed to AIPT Comics that the brothers were going to debut for WWE more than a decade as part of The Wyatt Family.

“We were going to debut with the Wyatt Family.”

When Were The Briscoes Supposed To Make WWE Debut?

The July 8, 2013 episode of Monday Night Raw from Baltimore was when that would have happened. The Wyatt Family originally consisted of the late, great Bray Wyatt, the late, great Luke Harper, and Erick Rowan. Braun Strowman was later added to the group.

What prevented the Briscoes from joining WWE was Jay Briscoe made an offensive tweet in 2013, which led to Jay issuing an apology. It is something that Jay apologized for many times in his life.
