Major WWE Star Says Future Is “Up For Conversation” As Contract Expiry Nears
One of WWE’s biggest stars is yet to sign a new contract.. and no, it isn’t Drew McIntyre.
While Drew McIntyre’s WWE future has been the talk of the town for months, several other WWE Superstars have contracts expiring in 2024. Sheamus is known to be reaching the end of his current deal, while Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch have contracts coming up. In fact, it’s believed that Lynch’s deal expires in June.
As Lynch nears her WrestleMania showdown with Rhea Ripley, she sat down with Adam Silverstein on Getting Over to discuss her life and career to date, as well as what comes next.
When asked whether she’d signed a new contract, Lynch laughed and kept her cards close to her chest.
“All in the ether. It’s all up for conversation. Nobody has asked me that. Nobody has said anything to me about it. I was wondering if anybody has noticed,”
Becky Lynch Wants To Retire With WWE
Speaking back in December, Becky Lynch said she had no desire to leave WWE. The Man explained that all she wanted to be growing up was a WWE Superstar, adding she hopes to eventually retire with the company.
Growing up, WWE is what I watched, it’s what I loved, it’s the reason I became a professional wrestler. Now, having been in it, I love it. I love the people, I love the audience, and I love being able to being an important part of change. I love that I get to continue to drive that and that my voice matters in WWE.
I feel listened to, and I feel we’ve been able to change the landscape of women’s wrestling forever. That feels very special to me. It’s my home. It’s where I was born as a professional wrestler in many ways in terms of my influence, and it’s where I’ll retire.”
Meanwhile, in February, Seth Rollins dropped a major hint that he’ll also be staying with the company.
