Major WWE Hall Of Famer Expected To Be Involved With AAA Promotion

A legendary WWE figure is expected to have a big role in the AAA promotion moving forward.

There are big names in attendance at the AAA TripleMania 33 event in Mexico City, which is expected to have a huge crowd and feature many big WWE names.

Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels posted a photo from TripleMania along with fellow Hall of Famers Paul “Triple H” Levesque and The Undertaker. Triple H is the WWE Chief Content Officer who oversees the creative team and talent roster, while Michaels is WWE’s Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative who runs the NXT brand.

There is no official job title for The Undertaker that we know of, but Fightful Select reports that they have been told “to expect the Undertaker around AAA more often.”

What that means exactly is unknown, but it’s still early in the WWE-AAA relationship, but it sounds like The Undertaker will have some role on the AAA brand.

Many WWE Superstars Will Be In Action At AAA TripleMania

The 33rd edition of AAA’s TripleMania event, which is the company’s equivalent to WWE WrestleMania, will take place this Saturday, August 16th. It will air live and for free on WWE’s YouTube channel in both English and Spanish at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT from Mexico City.

On commentary will be WWE’s Corey Graves, Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield, and Mexican wrestling legend, Konnan.

Here’s the advertised lineup:

AAA Mega Championship Fatal 4-Way Match
El Hijo del Vikingo (c) vs. Dragon Lee vs. Dominik Mysterio vs. El Grande Americano

AAA Tag Team Championship Street Fight
Angel & Berto (c) vs. Pagano & Psycho Clown

Six-Person Tag Team Match
Niño Hamburguesa, Mr. Iguana & Lola Vice vs. Finn Bálor, JD McDonagh & Raquel Rodriguez

Reina de Reinas Championship Triple Threat Match
Flammer (c) vs. Faby Apache vs. Natalya

Latin American Championship Match
El Mesías (c) vs. El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr.

Copa Bardahl Match

In the Copa Bardahl (Bardahl Cup), participants enter the match at timed intervals, similar to a Royal Rumble Match. Eliminations occur via pinfall. The last remaining competitor wins the Copa Bardahl trophy.

Luchablog reported that the attendance for TripleMania will be around 19,000 fans.

It was also mentioned by Fightful that “a number of WWE Superstars will be around in addition to those that are booked.”

There are also rumors that WWE Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio could win the AAA Mega Championship in a match featuring the champion El Hijo del Vikingo and fellow WWE superstars Dragon Lee and El Grande Americano.
