A new report provides a major update on how long Dustin Rhodes will remain with AEW.

During a December 2022 interview with Busted Open Radio, Dustin Rhodes indicated that his contract with All Elite Wrestling would be coming to a close in July of 2023. He’d previously mentioned that 2023 will be his last year as an active wrestler, and he gave more detail on the show:

“I made the decision that ‘Hey man, at the end of July, my contract is up. And I’m going to be done with the in ring, or at least tone it way, way down.

“I don’t know if that’s going to be it, because when we say we’re retiring, we always come back. And we never say never. But that’s what I’m looking for, an end date for my in-ring wrestling career.” (h/t WrestlingInc)

Rhodes indicated at the time that he wants to shift to a support role such as being a coach/producer and help out in any way he can as long as “he doesn’t embarrass himself in the ring.”

When Does Dustin Rhodes’ AEW Contract Expire?

When Rhodes spoke about his contract expiring in July of 2023, many fans began to speculate whether he would follow his brother Cody Rhodes an re-join WWE, possibly even getting involved in Cody’s current feud with Brock Lesnar as the two are set to face off at SummerSlam on August 5th.

However, a new report from Fightful Select indicates that Dustin Rhodes won’t be appearing in WWE any time soon as his AEW contract doesn’t expire until September of 2024.

Fightful Select also notes that it’s unclear why the dates have changed or whether he’s signed a contract extension, but that he has over a year left with the company.
