Major Update On Carlito’s WWE Return, Targeted Date & Location Revealed
Carlito is reportedly back in WWE, and a new report reveals when and where fans can expect his return to take place.
At WWE Backlash, Carlito received a huge ovation from the Puerto Rico crowd for his surprise appearance during the San Juan Street Fight between Bad Bunny and Damian Priest. The star helped even the odds for Bunny against the advances of The Judgment Day, and was later joined by Savio Vega and the LWO.
Speaking on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer indicated that Carlito could well be back under contract with WWE after the star canceled a planned appearance on an independent show in July, saying:
“The only thing I know there is he had an independent show on July 15th for Devon Nicholson in Canada and he called him up to cancel and said that he is signed with WWE. So perhaps he is signed with WWE. Wouldn’t surprise me because he got that big, big pop in Puerto Rico.” (h/t Cultaholic)
A follow-up report from PWInsider Elite stated that he was already taking steps to make his WWE return official.
Now, a new report from PWInsider Elite sheds more light on the situation, revealing that multiple sources have confirmed that the company is targeting the July 7th episode of SmackDown for him to re-debut with WWE, meaning he will be assigned to the blue brand. That episode is set to take place inside Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Carlito last competed in a WWE ring back in 2021 after he returned at that year’s men’s Royal Rumble match. His time in the company as a full-time star ended in 2010 when he refused to attend rehab following a wellness policy violation.
