Major AEW Star Rejects Offer From MVP At WrestleDream

MVP cuts a promo at AEW WrestleDream

AEW WrestleDream didn’t quite go to plan for MVP.

When MVP arrived in AEW on September 25th, he arrived with a plan. That plan has already seen him join forces with Shelton Benjamin and it’s been widely reported that Bobby Lashley will soon be joining the duo.

During his early days in AEW, MVP has made no secret of his desire to recruit Swerve Strickland, telling Prince Nana to pass on his card. However, it seems the former World Champion has other ideas.

At WrestleDream, Strickland returned for the first time since going to war with Adam Page at All Out. In front of his hometown crowd, Strickland said he was still struggling with the effects of that match, but before he could address his future he was interrupted by MVP and Benjamin.

MVP pointed to his history of reinvigorating former champions and said Nana was to blame for Strickland’s recent failures. Strickland even admitted there are things about Nana that irk him, calling him out for selling weed to high school kids. However, Nana is family, and he doesn’t turn his back on family.

Benjamin then got involved telling Strickland that he misread the situation and that what they were making wasn’t an offer it was a demand — you’re either with us or against us. As things escalated the quartet was separated by referees and AEW official Christopher Daniels.

MVP Ends Real-Life Feud With Chris Jericho After AEW Debut

Meanwhile, it’s been reported that MVP and Chis Jericho have settled their very public issues. The report noted that MVP approached Jericho on the night he made his AEW debut to put their problems to bed.

Although there are no specifics available about the exact nature of their discussion or what was said, sources indicate any issues were “hashed out” and no problems are expected going forward.

MVP and Jericho had previously been friends but that relationship broke down in spectacular fashion following claims MVP knocked out Jericho in 2020. This led to another incident at a hotel where the pair were seen arguing.

At WrestleDream, Jericho failed in his attempt to win the ROH World Title, losing out to Mark Briscoe.
