Logan Paul WWE Contract Update
An update has been provided on Logan Paul’s WWE contract status following “The Maverick” recently saying that his contract was expiring soon.
Logan Paul has been called one of the best celebrity wrestlers in the history of WWE. After all, the popular YouTube star/podcaster that has also competed in professional boxing matches has been a natural fit in WWE since his first match.
At WrestleMania 38 one year ago, Logan Paul teamed with The Miz to beat Rey & Dominik Mysterio. Following their victory, The Miz turned on Paul with a Skull Crushing Finale, which would lead to Paul’s first singles match. It was on June 30th, 2022 when WWE announced that Logan Paul signed a contract. Paul beat The Miz at SummerSlam 2022 in a very impressive match that led people to believe that Paul was a natural at pro wrestling.
All of that led to Logan Paul challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at Crown Jewel in just his second singles match in WWE. It was a wild thought to put Paul in a main event level match like that so early in his WWE career, but Paul handled it very well and had an outstanding match with The Tribal Chief, who pulled out the victory. It was yet another performance that earned rave reviews for Paul.
While Paul suffered a knee injury Crown Jewel match, Logan Paul was able to come back to be in the Royal Rumble. He made it near the end of the match and eliminated Seth “Freakin” Rollins, which is what led to their WrestleMania match.
The WrestleMania 39 match between Rollins and Paul took place on April 1st, which was Paul’s 28th birthday. After a spectacular zipline entrance, Paul put on a show with Rollins leading to a great back-and-forth match featuring two great athletes. After Paul accidentally took out his business partner KSI with a Frog Splash through the table, Rollins was able to finish off the cocky Paul with a Frog Splash.
Prior to WrestleMania, Logan Paul revealed when his WWE contract expired.
“April 1. I was contracted for a year to do two WrestleManias and I think five events.”
After his WrestleMania loss to Rollins, Logan talked to WWE’s Cathy Kelley and referenced that his contract had expired.
“At one point, I thought this was the worst birthday ever. It was a moment in time where I ended my rookie year on an embarrassing loss to Seth Rollins in front of 80,000 people at SoFi Stadium, I accidentally frog splashed my business partner KSI through a table and I currently have no job because my contract ended.”
“It’s not ideal, but I feel pretty good right now.”
In this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer wrote that it is believed that Logan Paul signed a new deal with WWE this week: “The talk was that he did sign a new deal.”
Considering how talented he is with only a handful of singles matches under his belt in WWE, it’s a good thing for both sides that his WWE career will continue.
